Hello Alfred

I wonder if it is possible to edit the file that the XMPP writes those thresholds too, to save everyone that wants to use the email notification without having to go through the setup of the messaging option?

Thank you

Hello,

The thresholds used for sending email notifications are the same as those you set with your Instant Messaging client.
So, if you want to get notified if CO2 level exceeds 800ppm you can send LiV an IM command "set CO2 more 800". You can then check alarm status with "alarms".

So, if an alarm threshold is exceeded and you set up notifications by email, you will get a notification by Instant Messaging first, followed by another notification by email.

On a related topic: Currently LiV blinks the LCD display readings if CO2 level exceeds 1000ppm. If you want to change that, you can modify the "ALARM_LEVELS" section in /home/pi/liv/livLCD/livLCD.config. The alarms levels here only control the blinking alerts on LCD - if measurements exceed pre-defined thresholds.
