access LiV intranet website from WAN

You can access your LiV intranet website even if you are not connected to your home router.

Here is how to do it:
1) on your home router enable port forwarding (e.g. open port 5000 and forward traffic to port 5000 to the IP address of your LiV RPi.) For this to work, your LiV should have a static IP address. You can also use DHCP but you have to bind the MAC address of LiV to a certain IP. Your router may or may not allow you to do these settings. Most routers do.

2) access LiV Pi using the external IP address of your router. You can find that IP address most likely in the "Status" section of your home router. Even if the external IP address of your router was assigned by your ISP using DHCP, chances are it will not change over time as long as you leave your home router alway on.

If your home router's API address is, say 61.32.135.42, you can access LiV home page in the web browser on your cell phone at "61.32.135.42:5000/newliv" even if your cellphone is not WiFi connected to your home router.
